Music Video Justin Young of The Vaccines

With people unable to leave their homes on Valentines Day during lockdown, Kraken Rum wanted to send lucky fans a gift to remember. How about a cocktail serenaded by The Vaccines' Justin Young. A unique composition of a sea shanty was created and sung by Justin. To accompany the campaign and to show Justin Young really serenading the cocktails, we set out to create a visual accompaniment to the campaign.

Filming in a deserted music venue - The Troxy in East London, we set up to create a scene to show off both the cocktail and Justin's musical prowess. We kept the production monochrome, using high contrast to emphasise parts of the scene. We dressed the set with nautical themed paraphernalia and romantic tentacle candles. To add variety and help set maritime theme, for part of the scene we projected waves on to a moveable backdrop and Justin's face. The result, a 60 second musical work of art to celebrate the world of Sea Shanties!
