Europe's last wild river is at risk of being destroyed by unnecessary damming. The Vjosa, which starts in Greece, cuts through Albania and goes out into the Adriatic Sea, is a 270km wild river. Energy and construction companies, along with banks and Governments, plan to install hydropower plants along every part of the river destroying natural wild habitats. Locals are fighting back - working with international scientists, NGOs, media and building a sustainable tourism industry to rejuvenate the area.

In collaboration with adventure platform - Much Better Adventures and a local team from Albania Rafting Group, I ventured out to Albania for a week to tell this story.
